Loved the first two eps of Korra, Nick’s new animated sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender. The art direction, story and animation are all there and improved upon, can’t wait to see where it goes! You can get a quick idea of the animation from the pencil test above.
My only gripe is I found Korra to be a little one dimensional. Granted, it was only two episodes and it took Aang awhile to get going in the original series, but he was also more of a kid and didn’t understand what was going on yet (in the context of the plot). The same can be argued for Korra- kept away from the cruel big city and treated as an Avatar- yet I also fear this can be an oversight in the writing. Here’s hoping she becomes less headstrong and as fleshed out as the rest of the characters in the previous series.
